Work Demand and Workload:

“Do you often feel overwhelmed by your workload?”
“Are you able to complete your work tasks within regular working hours?”

Control and Autonomy:

“Do you feel you have sufficient control over how you complete your tasks?”
“Are you able to influence decisions that are important for your work?”

Support from Management and Colleagues:

“Do you feel supported by your manager and colleagues?”
“How would you rate the quality of communication within your team?”

Psychosocial Risk questions are asked in sets of 2, or 4, and combined with 1 standard question from the AOS eNPS question set, in addition to the eNPS question, monthly. Therefore, the set of questions rotates either every  five months, or every 10 months. By rotating questions we reduce the incidence of survey fatigue, and because questions are randomized, reporting reflects insights into each question as data and feedback is amassed. It typically takes 90+ days to reach critical mass with the dataset and the reporting mechanisms.

Each question is rated on a scale of 1 – “Strongly Disagree” to 10 – “Strongly Agree”, and there are free-text options for additional comments to provide context or elaborate on specific issues. This approach allows for both quantitative analysis and qualitative insights, enabling a comprehensive understanding of psychosocial risks in the workplace.

♦ How It Works

An email is sent out to each Team Member once a month. The psychosocial risk questions are randomly combined with the AOS eNPS questions we ask in our general Team surveys.

The email invitation arrives with one of our 5 standard AOS eNPS questions, as a ‘quickstart question’. An example of an AOS eNPS question is:

Do you feel like your opinion matters at [Company Name]?

Once a score is selected and the Team Member enters the survey, they will be presented with the eNPS question (“Likelihood to Recommend”) and then two or four randomized* psychosocial questions that are paired with the eNPS question.

If the Team Member opts out of the anonymity option, they will be identified and can be communicated with through the AOS platform. Our recommendation is that whenever a team member opts to be known, the manager/HR person who administers the system responds directly, or passes this feedback on to the relevant manager/executive for a response. All these options are seamlessly built into the AOS platform.

The AOS system will aggregate the feedback and data providing a series of easy-to-navigate and read dashboards, trend trackers, prioritization tools and reporting options. The AOS system also allows for site to site comparisons allowing for best practices to be highlighted and leveraged.

Below is an example of a two Psychosocial Risk Assessment questions teamed with an AOS engagement question:

1. Do you feel like your opinion matters at [Company Name]?
“Are the rewards and recognition in your workplace fair and adequate?”
“Do you feel you have sufficient control over how you complete your tasks?”
2. Do you have what you need to thrive at [Company Name]?
“Are you able to complete your work tasks within regular working hours?”
“Are you comfortable with the way conflicts are managed in your workplace?”

In this example, each eNPS question is asked twice over a ten month span, but each psychosocial question is only asked once.

With each question, Team Members are presented with an open box to deposit any other thoughts they want to share about their experience as a Team Member. Our sophisticated AI engine aggregates and assimilates these text responses and produces sentiment and contextual analysis and grouping of responses.

* Questions are randomized because the goal of this instrument is to get a broad, unbiased view of various psychosocial factors. Randomizing questions does the following:
